You will have to excuse the poor sound quality as it sounds like the bike has blown the speaker on the camera :-)

Knockhill Race 2010

8th July 2010

Click Here To ViewWe headed to the third round of the Harley Davidson XR1200 championship on the 2nd -4th July at Knockhill and with heavy rain forecast we feared the worst. We were right!

I always feel there is a lot of expectation on Alex to do well here although when you look at it he hasn't really had that much time round the place.

We did get a dry Saturday and I knew there was something wrong when he came in after only one lap of free practice. When he returned to the track it was clear to see his bike was slower than the others. Turns out the new map which had been put in the bike was limiting the revs to 6000 rpm, when it should rev nearer 7500.

Mallory Park Race 2010

1st July 2010

Click Here To ViewAlex attended the second round of the Harley Davidson XR1200 championship at Mallory park on the weekend of the 25th – 27th June.

We knew this would be a hard one as Alex doesn't like the short bumpy circuit. Alex had tested the new Stratstone XR1200 at Mallory Park a couple of weeks earlier, although the bike was brand new and had to be run in so Alex wasn’t able to stretch the bikes potential.

The temperature on both days was very warm, reaching 30 degrees and as Alex came in from free practice he wasn't happy with the handling, however he was 5th fastest with a 1.04.414. Alex made a few big changes to the suspension which I wasn't sure of at the time, but he seems to know what he is talking about.

5th May 2010

Click Here To ViewCarluke racer Alex Gault had his first race on board The Stratstone Racing Harley Davidson XR1200 last weekend at Oulton Park in Cheshire in the Inagural XR1200 championship which runs as a support race to The British Superbike Championship.

It is fair to say that Alex is an underdog in this series as he is racing against many legends of the sport including former moto gp man Jeremy Mcwilliams, Shaun Emmett, Mike Edwards and Dave Wood.

Many of whom were winning championships before the teenager was even born.
