Alex Gault 2003 - The Real Deal by Alex Gault Snr..................................................................................Back To Index
Drive for 15 hours, spend around 250, spend countless hours preparing Alexs’ bike, so he can go round Mallory Park 20 times.
Is it worth it?
Well if you had of seen they way he rode, you'd have said "for sure".
Alex took both wins in his races. Although the Formula 80, did not have a big grid, they ran them with the "formula" and GP 125's.
Now when all is said and done you can not expect, an Formula 80cc to beat a GP 125cc or a Formula 125cc for that matter.
Out of the 18 bikes on the grid Alex brought home his Motorhispania Rx 70cc, 9th overall.
But what should be pointed out is all the Gp 125's were in the top 6 positions well out in front.
Alex was placed just behind two Formula 125's and in front of seven other Formula 125's and the only other two Formula 80's in the race.
What this did for me was make me realise this is getting to the "real deal".
After all this is a track they run British super bike rounds.
Big money and time, but also big location and exposure. Full report up on Alexs’website at www.minimotoracer.com
